Much like Vitamin D ( see our video ), Magnesium is essential to 100’s of processes in the body. Beyond bone support for which it is best known, it is key to overall brain, heart and nervous system health. Unfortunately, it is deficient in over half the US population.
Yet another damming indictment to the failings of our diet.
However, consuming processed, high carb, nutrient lite food is not the only reason why levels are so low for so many. Other factors that contribute are:
– The depletion of magnesium in the soil
– Many common drugs, such as Acid blockers and those for high blood pressure
– Alcohol, sugar, carbonated drinks
– Stress, kidney disease, Gastrointestinal problems
